What Is A Cream Pomeranian
Cream Pomeranians are Pomeranians that have a very light coat color with a very pale orange or yellow tint to it.

- Cream Sable
What Does A Cream Pomeranian Look Like
The three different Cream Pomeranian variations look different.
Clear Cream Pomeranian
A Clear Cream Pomeranian will have the lightest cream fur.
Clear Cream Pomeranians have a genetic makeup that turns all of their fur a very light cream or orange color, without any black or dark tips in their fur.
A Pomeranian that is a Clear Cream Pomeranian is often born with very light whiskers, usually white or light straw color.
Non-Clear Cream Pomeranian
Non-Clear Cream Pomeranians many times will have a silvery appearance when they are born.
The silvery-grey fur usually fades away over time resulting in a cream dog.
These dogs can also have black whiskers.
Cream Sable
Cream Sable Pomeranians will have a cream-colored undercoat with an outer coat with darker silvery tips in the sable pattern.
All Cream Pomeranians will have black noses, lips, paw pads, and eyelids. These are often referred to as points.

Are Cream Pomeranians The Same As Orange Pomeranians
A very light Orange Pomeranian may appear as if it is a Cream Pomeranian.
Although their appearance is very similar their genetic background will be different.
Our Cream Pomeranian Murphy may actually be an Orange Pomeranian genetically.
What Is The Difference Between A Cream Pomeranian And A White Pomeranian
The genetics for a White Pomeranian and a Cream Pomeranian are very different.
Every dog’s coat starts with the genetics for only two colors black and red. Different inherited genetics on eight main genes end up determining all of the unique differences between each dog.
A Cream Pomeranian has the base genetics of a red dog with unique DNA that ends up resulting in a light yellow-colored Cream Dog.
A White Pomeranian on the other hand has stronger base genetics of a “black dog” with different DNA on each of the eight loci resulting in a white dog.
What Is A Cream Pomeranians Temperment
Pomeranians are known to be little dogs with big attitudes.
Many Pomeranians seem to be unaware of their small size and will proudly voice their opinion and make themselves known.
You can expect a lot out of a Pomeranian, they will end up being your best friend who loves to cuddle with you on the couch. Your Pom will proudly jump to attention and alert you of any dangers.
Some of the most common words to describe a Pomeranian’s temperament are.
- Bold
- Fiesty
- Sassy
- Sociable
- Cuddly
- Affectionate
- Protective
- Intelligent
- Extroverted
- Playful
How Big Do Cream Pomeranians Get
Cream Pomeranians will be the same size as any other colored Pomeranian.
The AKC standard states that Pomeranians should weigh between 3 and 7 pounds with a height of 6 to 7 inches.
Many Pomeranians fall outside of the standard for weight and height. A dog that is smaller than the standard is often referred to as being a “Teacup Pomeranian“. Pomeranians larger than the breed standard may be called “Throwback Pomeranians“.
Do Cream Pomeranians Have Health Problems
As a breed Pomeranians are usually very healthy.
That said, there are some health conditions that Pomeranians are more prone to.
- Collapsed Treacheas
- Luxating Patellas
- Skin Conditions

Pomeranians on average live between 12 and 14 years.
What Is The Lifespan Of A Pomeranian?
Are Cream Puppies White At Birth
Cream Pomeranians will often appear white and look like a white puppy at birth.
A non-clear Cream Pomeranian may have a silvery hue at birth that fades into a cream coat over time.
If a puppy is a Cream Sable Pomeranian it will be a grey to silver color at birth.
It can often be difficult to determine what color a Pomeranian will end up being at birth. Many puppies are lighter or darker when they are newborn puppies, in comparison to when they are fully grown.
Since Pomeranians come in such a large variety of colors and patterns it’s best to wait until the puppy is around three months old before registering its color and pattern with the AKC.

Are Cream Pomeranians Hard To Keep Clean
Cream Pomeranians can be harder to keep clean when compared to darker colored Pomeranians.
A Cream Pomeranian or any Pomeranian with light-colored fur is more likely to have visible eye stains.
Eye stains can be hard to eliminate completely. There are many products on the market that you can use to clean dogs’ eye stains. You will need to routinely clean your Cream Pomeranian’s eyes in order to keep them clean.
If a Cream Pomeranian gets a little dirty it is more noticeable in comparison to a darker dog.
Overall, from experience with a Cream Pomeranian and a Black Pomeranian, I would say the only major difference would be the visibility of tear stains on our Cream Pomeranians fur.
Are Cream Pomeranians Rare
Cream Pomeranians can often be rare and hard to find.
The rarity of a Pomeranians coat color is determined by the genetics needed to produce that specific coat color.
A Cream Pomeranian starts with the genetics of a red dog and needs two recessive genes on the E locus.
This genetic combination is not the most common or the rarest. It’s somewhere in the middle.
Pomeranian breeders often select certain genetics that they will specialize in.
What Colors Do Pomeranians Come In?

How Much Does A Cream Pomeranian Cost
Cream Pomeranains will cost between $1400 and $6000.
The final cost for a Cream Pomeranian will depend on availability, demand, bloodlines, and travel expenses.
Where Can I Get A Cream Pomeranian
If you have your heart set on getting a Cream Pomeranian it’s best to seek out a breeder that specializes in cream coloring.
Pomeranians are an amazing breed that has numerous colors and pattern combinations.
Many breeders select specific genetic traits that they will specialize in.
The breeder from who we got our dogs consistently had merle, sable, black and, black and tan puppies.
Our Cream Pomeranian Murphy was their first Cream puppy. His parents were not intended to be a breeding pair. His father jumped the fence and our Cream Pomeranian Murphy was one of the happy results.

How Do Breeders Breed Cream Pomeranians
A breeder will evaluate the genetics of their dogs within their breeding program.
With every puppy receiving one gene from each parent within each cell, a breeder will need to know which genetics will or could be passed on from their breeding pairs.
Once the breeder is aware of their dog’s genetics they will be able to predict the possible outcomes of successful breeding.
Cream dogs will always have the recessive e/e gene on the E extension Locus that will prevent black pigment from being created within the fur.
Knowing that a cream puppy needs to have the e/e gene breeders will select breeding pairs that pass on e/e genetics.
